Hoping that the following prayers will be of comfort to those who mourn, and with deepest sympathy. O God, support us all the day long of this troublous life, Until the shadows lengthen and the evening comes; The busy world is hushed and the fever of life is o'er. Then O Lord, in thy great mercy, grant us a safe lodging, a holy rest and peace at the last, through Jesus Christ Our Lord. AMEN. We seem to give him back to thee, O Lord, who gavest him to life. Yet as thou lost him not, in so giving, so we lose him not by his returning. Not as the world gives, dost thou give, O Lover of Souls! For what thou looseth, thou takest not away, and of thine own do we give thee, if we are thine. Life an eternal crown of glory that fadeth not away; and love, immortal. For death is but an horizon; and an horizon is nothing but the limit of our sight. Lift us up, strong Son of God, that we may see further; cleanse our eyes that we may see more clearly; draw us closer to thee that we may know ourselves nearer to our beloved who are with thee. And while thou preparest a place for us, fit us for that happy place, that where they live with you for ever in eternity, we also may be; through Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN
